Privacy policy: The Tavern Dashboard
Last updated October 25, 2026.
The Tavern Dashboard is a desktop app for Windows that Ken Bjelosevic builds for his own use. It isn't sold or offered to the public. This policy explains what it does with data from your Google account.
What it reads from Google
Only after you sign in with Google and allow each one, the app uses:
-
Google Calendar, read-only (
calendar.readonly): the list of your calendars and the events from today through the next 7 days. It can't create, change or delete anything in your calendar. -
Gmail (
gmail.modify): the conversations in your Inbox's Primary category, newest first, and the messages in a conversation you open (sender, recipients, subject, date, text and the names of attachments). Attachments themselves are never downloaded.
What it changes in Gmail
The app changes your Gmail in only three ways, and only when you do it in the app:
- Opening an unread conversation marks it as read, as Gmail does.
- Mark unread marks a conversation as unread again.
- Trash moves a conversation to Gmail's Trash (Undo moves it back). Gmail empties its Trash after 30 days.
It never sends, writes, forwards or permanently deletes email, and never changes your settings or filters.
If a later version asks for read-only access to Google Drive, this policy will be updated before it does, and Google will ask you to allow it separately.
How it uses that data
Only to show your agenda and your email inside the app, on your own computer. Nothing else.
Where it's kept
- Calendar and Gmail data are held in the app's memory while it's open and are never saved to disk.
- Your Google sign-in and the app's client keys are saved in Windows Credential Manager on your computer, and nowhere else.
- The app has no servers. It talks only to Google's own services, directly from your computer. Nothing is sent to Ken or anyone else.
Sharing
Your Google data is never sold, shared, transferred or shown to anyone else. The app has no ads and no analytics, and it doesn't use your data to train AI or machine learning models.
The Tavern Dashboard's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing access
- In the app: Disconnect Google in the Calendar or Mail panel removes the sign-in and the keys.
- In your Google account: myaccount.google.com/permissions lists the app; removing it there signs the app out too.
